Aaliyah Nolan’s North Texas soccer senior teammate Taylor Torres is having her best start to a season in her four years at UNT.
Playing at Houston Baptist, Torres emphasized that by scoring two goals in the match's first 14 minutes to lead the North Texas to a 2-0 victory over the Huskies.
Through North Texas' first seven matches, Torres has now scored five goals and recorded 14 points, just five points shy of tying her 2017 season total, which was a career-best for her.
Torres scored her first goal in the game's fifth minute when freshman Olivia Klein found Torres in front of the net for the assist. Torres' shot came from just outside the keeper box.
The assist is Klein's second on the year and combined with her three goals gives her eight points, which is tied for the second-most on the team with senior Nolan. Torres and Klein have connected on four of North Texas’ 15 goals so far this season.
Torres found the back of the net again less than 10 minutes later when she cleaned up a blocked shot from who else, but Klein.
