DESHAE DARRELL

Deshae Darrell scored her first ever hat trick in college soccer, as she scored all 3 of Brookhaven College's goals against Mountain View College.

Darrell opened the scoring in the 4th minute after a mistake from the defense allowed her to win the ball and make a solo run towards goal. When Darrell got inside the 18 yard box she made no mistake with a calm finish.

Darrell was on target again in the 26th minute after Savanna Hernandez lobbed the ball over the defense and sent Darrell through for a one on one with goalkeeper and she buried the ball in the back of the net.

Darrell completely her hat trick when fellow striker Julie Ortega played a perfect ball down the left flank in the 43rd minute for Deshae to run onto and take it into the box and slot it home.

Darrell is now on 11 goals for the season and hopefully her form will continue into the final week of the season.

JASMINE SPENCE

Jasmine Spence and her Mercer Women's Soccer teammates earned a point after their first draw of the season, a 0-0 decision with Chattanooga, on Senior Day at Bear Field.

The match was the final home match of the regular season for Mercer and served as Senior Day. Seniors Valeria Bermeo, Emma Chandlee and Isabel Rothschadl were honored before the match.

Mercer continued to push for an opening goal after the halftime break. In the 45th minute Spence fired one towards goal but the ball was just high of the target. Mercer would fire a flurry of eight shots in the first 15 minutes of the second half unable to connect on them.
