Bermudians Assist Thomas College in Wins

Jada Samuels, Taznae Fubler and their Thomas College Women's Soccer teammates shutout Green Mountain College, 4-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup at Smith Field.

Thomas got on the board early in the 9th minute as Samuels sent a pass over to Jackie Woodward in the box. Woodward redirected the pass to an open Emily Dufour at the left post who finished for the first goal of the game.

Thomas added their second of the game as Julia Smith sent a crossing pass to Makenzie Carlow in the box as she one-touched the ball in for a 2-0 lead. Just before the break, Sam Jordan put Thomas up by three with her first career goal as she tapped in a rebound shot from Dufour.

Woodward scored Thomas' fourth goal as she scooped up a loose ball in front after a crossing pass from Nikki Bradstreet in the 65th minute to finish the scoring at 4-0.

Devynn Turner earned her first collegiate win in goal for Thomas while Jessica Casey made 11 stops in goal for Green Mountain College.

Thomas outshot the Green Mountain College 24-5 and held a 4-1 advantage in corners. Taylor Merritt and Maya Golowasch recorded the two Green Mountain College shots on goal.

Meanwhile Jamel Amory, MacQuille Walker, Zenawi Bowen and Darin Woolridge and their Thomas College Men's Soccer teammates blanked Green Mountain College, 7-0, in North Atlantic Conference action at Smith Field.

Thomas snap a three-game losing streak, Thomas scored early and often in the second half as their offense ignited for six unanswered goals.

Josh Emard got on the board first in the ninth minute a feed from Princiel Kunieki. Four minutes later, Adam LaBrie took a pass from Emard and sent in a goal to the right side. Kunieki added a goal of his own in the 23rd minute off of a corner by Josh Morrissey.

Thomas added three more goals before the break to take at 6-0 halftime lead. Nawfal El-Antri chipped in a goal on a feed from Bowen in the 29th minute. Michael Sanzari and DJ Nicholas scored back to back goals in the 41st before the half.

Thomas added one more goal in the 50th minute as Kyle Fletcher headed in a free kick from John Flores-McKenna to finish the scoring at 7-0.

Jonathan Dutka, John Villanueva, and Nick Chandler each split time in goal for Thomas. Griffin Shelor stopped 12 shots in the effort for the Green Mountain College.
