Thomas got on the board in the 24th minute when Michael Sanzari collected a ball off of Johnson keeper Gerrit Lane and buried it home for the 1-0 lead.
Jack Gallagher doubled the Thomas lead in the 32nd minute when he headed in a Nawfal El-Antri free kick taken from midfield to take the 2-0 lead.

Johnson State College outshot Thomas College in the second half as both teams failed to score, ending in a 2-0 win for Thomas.

Lane was tagged with the loss, allowing two goals on seven shots. Jonathan Dutka earned the win, not facing a shot while in goal in the first half. He was replaced for the second half by John Villanueva who stopped all four shots he faced.

Meanwhile Taznae Fubler, Jada Samuels and their Thomas College Women's Soccer teammates used a strong second half effort to down the University of Maine (UMPI) at Presque Isle, 2 – 0 at Smith Field.

In the opening 20 minutes, play remained at midfield as both teams could not create opportunities. Maine looked to get on the board in the 25th minute as Janae Libby received a pass all alone in the box. Libby's shot was stopped to the right side by a diving Nikki Bradstreet to keep the game scoreless.

UMPI held the offensive pressure in the first half as they outshot Thomas 3-0 before the break.

Thomas broke open the scoring late in the 78th minute as Fubler's free kick from 40 yards out found the back of the net just inside the right post. Just under two minutes later, Fubler sent in Jada Samuels on a through ball. Samuels tucked the ball under the UMPI keeper Allie Lopez to finish the scoring at 2 - 0.

Thomas outshot UMPI 8-6 while each team held four corner kicks a piece.

Bradstreet stopped all five shots in the victory while Lopez shouldered the loss, making two saves.
