Jamel Amory, MacQuille Walker, Zenawi Bowen and Darin Woolridge and their Thomas College Men's Soccer teammates snapped a three-game losing streak in a 3-0 shutout victory over Husson University in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at Smith Field.

Thomas improve to 3-3 in the victory while the Husson University fall to 1-3.

Thomas controlled shots in the first half as they held an 11-4 advantage. Thomas struck first in the 22nd minute of the first half as Nawfal El-Antri's free kick from the left side beat the Husson keeper Cody Gross.

Play remained back in forth in the second half until two late goals from Thomas put the game out of reach at 3-0. In the 82nd minute, Michael Sanzari received a pass to the right side from Shammah Gahomera. Sanzari's shot hooked around the Husson keeper and in for his first collegiate goal. Just under four minutes later, Tevin Reid beat two defenders in the box and his shot tucked inside the left post for his first goal of the season.

Jonathan Dutka and John Villanueva split time in goal for Thomas, stopping all seven shots. Josh Irving had a big game on defense for Thomas, clearing away two scoring opportunities for Husson. Gross turned aside six shots for Husson in the effort.

Husson outshot Thomas 19-11 and held a 9-2 advantage in corners.

Meanwhile Taznae Fubler and her Thomas College Women's Soccer teammates fell short of Husson, 2-1, in their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener at Smith Field.

In the defeat, Thomas now fall to 0-5 while Husson move to 2-3 (1-0 NAC) on the year.

The Husson offense tested the Thomas defense and keeper Kayla Gordon early in the first half. Husson broke through with a goal in the 14th minute as Morgan Carver received a through ball from Leah Hibbad. Carver's shot deflected off the fingertips of Gordon and in for an early 1-0 lead.

The lead was short-lived as Thomas responded just over two minutes later with a goal of their own. After a corner kick, Taylor Peno found Molly Carroll in front of the goal as she finished for her first collegiate point.

Husson took the lead back later on in the 59th minute as Carver added her second goal of the game on a through ball from Megan Connor. Thomas came up short in the final seconds of the game as Fubler's free kick from the left side flew just over the crossbar to finish the game at 2-1.

Gordon finished with a strong 13 saves in goal for Thomas, while Sami Ireland was given the win for Husson.

Husson outshot Thomas 28-3 and held a 14-1 advantage in corner kicks.
