Eva Frazzoni and her College of Saint Rose Women’s Soccer teammates built a 2-0 halftime lead and then held off a desperately moving forward Stonehill squad in the final 15 minutes to upend the defending Northeast-10 Conference champions 2-1 at Sullivan Field.
Sophomore forward Nina Predanic accounted for the game winner when she gathered a Stonehill clearing attempt and drove a shot to the left side of the net with 37:01 gone by. Earlier, sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Dabagian made a nice run down the right side, before delivering a ball to the area that fellow sophomore midfielder Frazzoni touched home with 8:09 gone by.
Stonehill then picked up the momentum in the late going and broke through with four minutes remaining when junior midfielder Courtney Campo lofted a ball from 30-yards out that slipped under the crossbar. However, Saint Rose kept Stonehill at bay from that point forward to keep its unblemished record intact.
Sophomore Marika Laurendeau and junior Madison Taylor made a combined five saves throughout the afternoon, while sophomore keeper Kaitlin Brown turned aside six shots-on-goal for Stonehill.
