The Thomas College Men's Soccer team dropped a 2 - 1 decision to Bates in a non-conference matchup at Smith Field.

In the loss, the Thomas fall to 8-4-1 (6-0 NAC) on the season while the Bates improve to 4-6-2 (1-6-1 NESCAC). Nate Merchant scored both goals for Bates in the victory.
Thomas got on the board late in the first half at the 41st minute as Josh Emard received a through ball from Clemons and tucked a shot just inside the right post.
Thomas held onto the 1-0 lead at the half and held a 12-6 advantage in shots.
Bates evened the score in the 54th minute as Thomas keeper Drew Martin slid out to steal the ball. The ball deflected off Martin to Merchant who fired into the empty net for a 1-1 game. In the 87th minute, Merchant was the hero for Bates, scoring the winning goal on a hard shot into the top corner.
