The Thomas College Men's Soccer team with 9 Bermudian players on their roster including Diondre Dowling, London Steede-Jackson, Mikal Simmons, Willie Clemons, MacQuille Walker, Jordan Lambe, Rai Sampson, Jordan Payne and Zeon Robinson drew with Saint Joseph's College 1 - 1 at Smith Field.
In the tie, Thomas College and Saint Joseph's College begin their 2016 seasons both at 0-0-1.
Saint Joseph's looked to get on the board early in the fourth minute of the game but their goal was called back due to an offside call by the official. The score remained tied at zero going into the half with the Thomas outshooting their opponents 5-3.
At the 54th minute of the second half, Saint Joseph's struck first on a goal from Cody Elliot who received a pass from Brett Mattos.
Thomas answered with an equalizer just eight minutes later when senior captain Steede-Jackson dribbled around three defenders and finished for his first goal of the season.
Regulation and two overtimes was not enough for both teams as the scoring finished at 1-1.
Senior Joakim Sternas recorded three saves in goal for the Thomas College while Zack Moody finished with four saves for Saint Joseph's.
