Table-topping Bermuda advanced to a place in the 2016 CONCACAF U-15 Girls’ Championship Quarter-Finals with a 7-1 win over Group E opponents Antigua & Barbuda at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Bermuda got a hat-trick from Leilanni Nesbeth, Tianna Mullan added two goals, while Nia Christopher and Jaden Masters added one each.
Bermuda coach Naquita Robinson said, “The girls actually took the coaches information and executed what was asked of them. We won the game 7-1 and the goals were well taken. Players defended well and moved the ball around the field. Antigua were not as good as us. They showed brief moments so we were always going to win it was a matter of by how many.”
Robinson concluded, “Now we look forward to playing the USA. They are the top dogs in the tournament along with Canada. The USA are very physical and fast. We will have to up our game to hang with them if I'm honest. The girls are both scared and excited about Wednesday's Quarter-Finals.”
