Somethings can only be explained one-way, “some just don’t care when our young people do special things”.
This past weekend Bermuda Under 17 Men’s National Football team traveled to St. Vincent to compete in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) 2016 Under-17 World Cup Qualifiers.
Bermuda was up against Grenada, St. Lucia, and host St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Bermuda finished with 7 points on top of Group 3 recording 2 wins and 1 loss and have advanced to the next round which will be held in Trinidad in September.
Coach Dennis Brown said, “These young men have made us all proud. The picture says it all!!!”
It is a good thing the players were not in St. Vincent fighting and acting up, as that would have made headlines for some, that could not even bother to cover a National Team representing the Country in one of our National Sports.
Youngsters across the island over the summer months are constantly involved in Sporting activities and deserve recognition, but at what cost, people need to be aware of just how our young men in certain sports and certain sectors of the community are handled.
