Men's Futsal League Round Up

Fans were treated to 4 exciting games at the Bermuda College Gym as the Bermuda Futsal Federation’s Men’s League continued with a total of 55 goals scored.

The first game of the night saw two undefeated teams Atletico CP and Footy Force battle it out for bragging rights. In the first half, the game was evenly matched and Atletico led 3 - 2 at half-time. The second-half saw both teams see saw back and forth with Atletico scoring 5 goals to Footy's 5 goals resulting in Atletico winning the game 8 - 6. MVP for Atlectico was Sareiko Thomas with 2 goals. Dunnya Taylor was Footy Force's MVP scoring a hat trick. With the win, Atletico has a commanding lead at the top of the table.

The second game was perhaps a prelude to the annual Cup Match Classic between Somerset Cricket Club and St. George's Cricket Club. Both teams gave fans end to end action and at half-time Somerset Trojans was ahead 5 - 4. The second-half was very even with both teams scoring 2 goals each which allowed Somerset Trojans to edge out the win by a final score of 7 - 6. Somerset Trojans MVP was Tahj Wade who played a masterful role in the back. St. George's Philip Anderson was also outstanding scoring 2 goals.

The third game was another close affair with newcomers Simplimente Futsal taking on Talent FC. Talent rebounded from their loss last week and played a much better game. At the half, Simplimente led 4 - 2. Both teams were evenly matched in the second half with each scoring 4 goals. However, Simplimente won the game 8 - 6. Shaun Brown was outstanding for Simplimente scoring 4 goals. Justin Sousa was MVP for Talent, making a series of outstanding saves to keep his team in the game.

The last game of the evening saw previously undefeated C-Side Freestylers run into a well-oiled Hamilton Parish team who pressured and outplayed their younger counterparts in all aspects of the game. C-Side never got going and at half-time Hamilton Parish led 4 - 2. The second-half was not much different with Hamilton Parish continuing to frustrate their opponents and scoring 5 goals to C-Side's 3, to win the game 9 - 5. Hamilton Parish’s Shakir Smith was their MVP scoring a hat trick. Quinaceo Hunt was outstanding for C-Side.
