Parfitt-Williams & Trott and West Ham Go Down in Final

Following there U21 Premier League Cup success, a youthful West Ham United squad including Bermudian pair Djair Parfitt-Williams and Nathan Trott have traveled to Uitgeest, northern Holland to compete in the annual ICTG Youth Tournament.

Parfitt-Williams, Trott and their teammates were in Pool A, advancing to the Semi-Final going undefeated.

In the Semi-Final West Ham United took on Greek Panathinaikos. West Ham was the attacking team, but the Panathinaikos defense appeared hard to beat.

Three minutes before the end Panathinaikos scored taking a 1-0 lead and the goal was celebrated as if it where the decider in the Tournament Final, however West Ham United worked to get the ball into the box as many times as possible. In the last second of the game a Panathinaikos foul resulted in a penalty for West Ham which was converted making the final score 1 - 1 after twice 25 minutes play.

The match was to be decided by kicks from the Penalty Mark, with Panathinaikos missing two penalties and West Ham United proceeded into the tournament final.

Brazilian team Atletico Paranaense also advanced to the Final using the Kicks from the Penalty Mark route over AZ after the teams finished 0 – 0.

In the final West Ham United kicked off against the Brazilian team Atletico Paranaense.

The game was played over two halves of 30 minutes each. The first half was a high speed game without too many chances for both sides. After a quick start by West Ham United, Atletico Paranaense took over the initiative.

Antonio Martinez almost scored from a header after a free kick, but the Brazilian goalkeeper caught the ball just before the final whistle of the first half.

Over the second half no one managed to score, the decision of the Tournament final will be made by a penalty series. After the first series of 5 the score is 4-4, both teams missed one. The 7th penalty by West Ham United’s Declan Rice was saved by Steillon Lisboa Oliveira as Atletico Paranaense were crowned the champions of the ICGT 2016
