As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, as Djair Parfitt-Williams and his West Ham United Development Squad teammates went down 2 – 1 to Swansea City ending their eleven game unbeaten streak.
It was almost the perfect start for West Ham in the first minute, George Dobson won possession on the half-way line and found Parfitt-Williams, his ball over the defense saw Jahmal Hector-Ingram not get enough power on the shot.
In the 22nd minute Parfitt-Williams picked up the ball, burst into the box and was bundled over, however the referee wasn't having it as he waved play on.
West Ham went ahead in the 29th minute and it's that man Grady Diangana who can't stop scoring! That's his first at Under 21 level and a well taken one it was too. He smashed his effort past Gregor Zabret at the near post.
Three minutes later Parfitt-Williams broke into the box ready to unleash a shot on goal but Swansea clear it away at the last minute. It was just more superb build up, led by Parfitt-Williams, those in attendance can see the effect training with the first team has had on him.
In the 43rd minute an amazing run by Parfitt-Williams was eventually curtailed on the edge of the box, he was screaming for a handball but nothing doing.
In the 53rd minute Swansea was level as Josh Sheehan fired past Sam Howes into the far corner.
West Ham came close to taking the lead again in the 66th minute, Parfitt-Williams and Diangana combine with a majestic one-two to get in behind yet Swansea recover in the knick of time.
The winner came in the 71st minute for Swansea with Adam King netting with a vicious strike from the edge of the box.
