Parfitt-Williams Scores in West Ham Win

IslandStats.com
Djair Parfitt-Williams and his West Ham United Development teammates are through to the Quarter-Finals of the Under 21 Premier League Cup Round of 16 after a grueling 3-2 win over London rivals Fulham.

West Ham had coming back from behind twice to secure the win after Extra Time, the Development Squad are unbeaten in eight now.

In the 9th minute an excellent flowing move started with a crossfield pass from Alex Song to Stephen Hendrie who worked it well with Parfitt-Williams. They sprayed the ball across the Fulham penalty area, but the move was broken down, somewhat controversially, when Jaanai Gordon is hauled down, the home crowd certainly thought it was a penalty, however they got nothing from referee Ian Cooper.

Two minutes later Fulham would go in front as striker Matt Smith's deflected shot from the edge of the box gave West Ham United goalkeeper Sam Howes very little chance of saving.

Six minutes later West Ham United equalized through Parfitt-Williams. Parfitt-Williams headed home from a corner - that's his second headed goal in as many games.

In the 33rd minute Fulham went back in front, Mattias Kait slotted home following a goalmouth scramble resulting from a corner that wasn't cleared.

But Elliot Lee equalized in the 44th minute, the striker twisted and turned on the edge of the box before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the far corner.

In the 60th minute West Ham United came close to going ahead when Parfitt-Williams smashed the woodwork with a thunderous drive. Seconds later Alex Song blazes just over.

With five minutes to play in regulation time another fine attacking move involving Makasi, Parfitt-Williams and Hendrie, it ended with Norman collected well.

The match moved into Extra Time and ten minutes in Elliot Lee stepped up coolly to slot a spot kick home after Hendrie was fouled. The striker held his nerve well, sending Norman the wrong way.
