The Thomas College Men’s Soccer programme that features 6 Bermuda players, including Jordan Payne, London Steede-Jackson, Mikal Simmons, Tre Ming, Willie Clemons and Chris Godfrey scored three second-half goals en route to a 3-1 North Atlantic Conference win over the University of Maine at Farmington.

UMF opened the scoring in the 20th minute as Uriah Forest-Bulley beat the Thomas goalkeeper Joakim Sternas with a header off a flip throw-in from Luke Sterling.

The University of Maine held the lead into halftime but Thomas College wasted little time getting on the board in the second half. DJ Nicholas netted the equalizer just 20 seconds after the restart off an assist from Clemons.

Yusuf Yama nearly gave UMF the lead back in the 54th minute but Sternas was able to make a layout save to keep the score tied. Yama was shown a red card during a sequence a short time later, forcing the University of Maine to play a man down the rest of the way.

In the 77th minute, Clemons scored off a rebound to give Thomas a 2-1 lead.

Josh Emard gave Thomas College some insurance in the final minute, netting his eighth goal of the season off a breakaway down the right side with 18.2 seconds to play.

Thomas outshot UMF, 20-10, overall and held a 15-6 advantage in shots on goal and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. Sternas went the distance in goal for Thomas College, recording five saves.
