Zeiko Lewis IslandStats.com Junior Zeiko Lewis was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week after his performance in a pair of Boston College victories last week.
Lewis led Boston College with two goals, two assists and six points in wins against UConn and Virginia Tech. Lewis played a role in all three goals against previously unbeaten UConn, scoring twice and assisting on the game-winner. It was the first two-goal game of his career and his five points were a career high. Lewis then added an assist in the Boston College win in Blacksburg.
He leads Boston College with four assists and is second in goals with 3 and he has 10 points.
Meanwhile Ryan Parris, a student of Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia was named the McDonald’s Athlete of the Week.
The Acadia University Soccer team remain undefeated after picking up their second tie of the season and improve to 2-0-2 after three weekends of play.
Second year midfielder Parris was integral in the team's scoreless tie versus the high flying first place Cape Breton Capers.
From Pembroke, Bermuda, Parris defensively protected the back line, broke down the Capers midfield play and then distributed the ball well.
Parris won his midfield battles against the highest scoring team in the conference thus far this season.
Troy Tucker and his University of Tampa Men's Soccer teammates dropped a game to Palm Beach Atlantic 4-2.
Tampa fall to 5-3 and on the year while the no.6 Palm Beach Atlantic advance to 7-0-1 on the season.
First half action was action packed and dominated by the offense with both squads trading goals. Scoring for Tampa was Bay Downing at the 6-minute on a beautiful set piece play assisted by Keith Francisco, and at the 15-minute mark Fredinho Mompremier via PK. Both goals came in the first half where they trailed 3-2.
Registering goals for Palm Beach Atlantic was Lucas Coutinho with two of the three first-half marks and Neil Slooves.
The second half action played out much like the first as an intense back forth battle, with both teams looking showcase their offense. But it was Palm Beach Atlantic who came out on top as Lucas Dasilva netted the goal that put the nail in the coffin for Tampa at the 84-minute mark.
