Bermuda Go Down to Canada in Mexico

The Bermuda Under 15 Boy’s National Team continued competing in the Mexico 5 Nations Tournament in Mexico City.

Bermuda’s fourth game against Canada took place at the Centro de alto Rendimiento, the high performance center and home of the Mexican National teams.

Bermuda started against Canada playing the ball out from the back with confidence, the game was evenly balanced with its teams feeling each other out.

Canada took the lead in the 6th minute, when a cross into the box took a deflection and flew into the back of the net.

Bermuda enjoyed possession, knocking the ball around, but Canada on the counter attack saw a shot from outside the 18 yard box go inches wide.


Minutes later it was 2 – 0 , with another counter attack a Canadian attacker ran into the 18 yard box eluded a defender and score, before Bermuda could regroup Canada was ahead 3 – 0 with a shot from the edge of the box.

Canada kept the pressure on the Bermuda defense and the Canadian forward plays a one two, shoots diagonally across the goal and scored to give Canada a 4 – 0 half time lead.

The second half resumed, with Bermuda making a change, T'ahje Smith came off and Jahquari Paynter went on.

Bermuda started pressing Canada and playing attractive passing game keeping possession looking for their opening goal, but five minutes into the second half a Canadian strike made a darting run to the touch line and cross the ball to the on rushing Canadian attacker who heads the ball home from close range.

In was 6 – 0 after 53 minutes with a shot from inside the box.

Bermuda made more changes with Chiemeka Raynor and Richard Jones coming on for Zuhri Burgess and Mateo Isaac.

A Canadian cross beat the Bermuda defense who look tired and deflated leaving the striker and simplest of task to tap the ball into the net for a 7 – 0 lead.

Bermuda made a triple substitution, Kane Crichlow, Rahzir Jones, and Enrique Russell all came off replaced by Cory Booth, Blaiz Hall and Diego Richardson.

The changes only assisted Bermuda in holding off Canada for the remainder of the game.
