The Bermuda Brazilian Football School’s 8th Annual Football Tour continued.
The group is in Canada and on Day 5, they held a light and fun based training Futsal session. The session was based on playing in a small space and being able to retain possession or use a skill/move, to get past your opponent.
They then moved to games as all the teams were hosted by the Oakville Soccer Club of Ontario (the largest Soccer Club in North America with 10,000 members).
U11 Girls/U12 Boys:
The U11 Girls and U12 Boys participated in another Mini Football Festival playing three matches each. The U11 Girls were placed in Mixed Teams with the Oakville Girls and enjoyed making new friends.
The competitive level of play and technical warmup sessions, has been a great learning tool for this group thus far.
The U12 Boys played three matches vs various Oakville teams. In the first match BBFS went down 4-1 as the Boys were taught a lesson to not judge the opponent by the size of their players.
In game 2, the boys showed a vast improvement with a 2-2 draw. Their final game ended with a 0-0 draw and this was another great learning experience for them.
U14 Girls:
The Girls joined in with the Oakville U14's and played vs Turks and Caicos. All three (Cally Blankendal, Talea Quinn and Aaliyah Simons) showed a vast improvement from game 1 with Simons continuing to find the back of the net. The final score was 9-0 to Oakville.
U14 Boys:
The U14 Boys went down 1-0 to a strong Oakville U14 Academy team. During the 80 minutes, the team was introduced to the intense physical demands of international football.
Both teams battled for every ball, tugged on shirts, tackled, exchanged some pleasant words on the pitch and created a few chances. In the 70th minute, Oakville would score on a lapse of concentration in the defense to go up 1-0.
BBFS battled back and created a final chance to score from a corner but the cross was headed just over the bar.
