The Bermuda Brazilian Football School’s 8th Annual Football Cultural Tour has been a resounding success thus far. During the past 4 days the group has played a total of 12 games with 4 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses.
The Under 12 Boys won 2 and have 2 draws, Under 11 Girls 2 draws and 2 losses and Under 14 Boys with 2 wins, 2-0 and 3-0 respectively. The Under 14 girls have played as guest players with Canadian teams and have also joined the Under 12 Boys in two matches.
The highlight of the tour thus far, was the opening ceremony of the Guelph Football Festival. The Bermuda Brazilian Football School’s players and participating teams, were paraded onto the field and welcomed to Canada by the Mayor of Guelph.
On the pitch, the Under 14 Boys overcame the Under 14 National team of Turks and Caicos 3-0. Later in the day the Under 14 Girls (Cally Blankendal, Talea Quinn and Aaliyah Simons) played as guest players with the Guelph Under 14 teams defeating the TC National Girls Select team 7-0. Simons scored a powerful header of a cross by Blankendal, Simons capped of a find performance by turning her defender in the box and driving home a low shot past the TC goal-keeper.
