Parfitt-Williams & West Ham Defeat Chelsea

IslandStats.com
Djair Parfitt-Williams and his West Ham United Development Squad teammates defeated Chelsea 1 – 0 in their Barclays Under 21 Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

In the 15th minute Parfitt-Williams, beat two men before unleashing a curling shot from the edge of the area. Superb work from the 18-year-old, unfortunately it goes just wide of Bradley Collins' post.

Half time at Stamford Bridge and somehow it remained goalless. West Ham Manager Steve Potts was delighted with his side's effort to that point.

55 minutes in and Parfitt-Williams almost capitalized on a loss pass by Jordan Houghton but the ball doesn't quite break for him and a Chelsea defender recovered to clear.

In the 90th minute Parfitt-Williams and a teammate combine well to break away but the move breaks down, with the ball being cleared for a corner, from the Parfitt-Williams corner Chelsea failed to clear and Josh Cullen rifled a shot into the top corner, giving West Ham a 1 - 0 lead with only a few minutes remaining.

Minutes later the referee blew the final whistle and Cullen's superb strike wins it for West Ham. The result is no less than they deserve and it means Manchester United are this season's Barclays Under 21 Premier League Champions.
