The 2014-15 season concluded with the Axemen Varsity Soccer team’s year-end awards at the Acadia Athletics Fred G. Kelly Awards Night.
This year's Rookie of the Year Soccer Award was won by Ryan Parris. The Coach noted, “Parris very quickly established himself as a key starter for our team in central midfield. He has strength, speed, composure and silky smooth passing, and in a very physical conference held his own.”
Prior to joining Acadia University, Parris attended Trinity College School (TCS), a boarding school in Port Hope, Canada. While at TCS Parris was the Captain of the Bigside Soccer Team.
In addition he was the recipient of a number of Sports Awards including:- • Soccer: 1) Distinction Award’ in Soccer (the highest level Sports Award recognized by the school) 2) The Paterson Trophy as ‘Most Valuable Player’ 3) Player’s MVP
• Cricket:- 1) The Seagram Cup for Spirit, Enthusiasm and Sportsmanship 2) The E.L. Curry Cup for Best Batsman 3) The Old Boy’s Fielding Cup as Best Fielder
• Basketball: 1) Coach’s Award for Most Improved
Parris is also a part of the Lewis Family that has established themselves in the local Soccer Arena.
