The team finished their successful season 18-0-1 after defeating Bishop Moore Catholic High School 3-0. The victory crowned them as tournament champions in the 16 team pool with teams throughout Central Florida and the Jacksonville, Florida, area.
MVA’s goal scorers were Nathalia Da Silva, Andrea Rodriquez and Shayla Smart. MVA junior Jasmine Spence was selected the Offensive MVP of the JWC Championship game. The game was played at the Bishop Moore Catholic High School of Orlando, Florida.
“I am extremely proud of the effort and intensity our girls displayed versus Bishop Moore. It was a very fast and physical game, we kept our composure, played our style and created more chances than the opposition, it’s been an amazing year, the girls have played at a very high level and are getting the recognition they deserve. To lift 2 trophies in the last 2 weeks is amazing and rewarding for our girls,” Coach Aristodemo told MVA Communications Department yesterday.
Earlier this month, Montverde Academy’s Varsity Soccer team won the 2nd Annual Women’s Invitational Soccer Tournament (WIST) Soccer Tournament held at MVA. Also impressive is that the 2014 Montverde Academy Girls’ Varsity Soccer team is the first-ever Montverde Academy girls’ athletic program to be Nationally Ranked!
Montverde Academy are ranked #32 in the United States in the most recent TOP DRAWER SOCCER National Girls Soccer rankings, and #6 in the state of Florida for Winter Girls’ Soccer!
