Casey Castle and his University of Indianapolis (UIndy) Men's Soccer teammates rebounded from a Great Lakes Valley Conference loss to take a 2-0 victory over Truman State in league action.
The University of Indianapolis scored both of their goals in the first 20 minutes of the match, within about five minutes of each other. University of Indianapolis got on the board first at the 14:36 mark, with Ngwese Ebangwese putting away a penalty kick chance for his third goal of the year.
Castle took a cross from Ebangwese about five minutes later, in the 19th minute, burying a shot into the left side of the frame for his second goal of the year.
Host Truman State out-shot University of Indianapolis 18-12 in the match, and also took more corner kicks than the University of Indianapolis. Ebangwese and Castle each took three shots in the match to lead the University of Indianapolis offense, while Daniel Wellmann also took a pair of shots.
Andrew Verhonik took the win in goal, making five saves in facing the 18 Truman State shots to preserve the cleansheet, his third of the year.
