The Thomas College Men's Soccer team with their Bermuda Eight was unable to hold a 2-0 lead as Husson scored three second half goals to come from behind for the 3-2 victory at Boucher Field.
Eight of Bermuda’s Young Footballers are playing for the Thomas College Men's Soccer team. The eight include, Winston Trott, Zeon Robinson, Mikal Simmons, Marcus Johnson, London Steede-Jackson, Tre Ming, Khamisi Lightbourne and Chris Godfrey.
Thomas took little time getting on the scoreboard as Ming put home a goal in the fifth minute for the early lead. Both teams played evenly throughout the rest of the first half and the 1-0 Thomas lead would hold into halftime.
Shots were 10-9 in favor of Husson at the break.
Dakota Duplissie got Thomas College off to another quick start in the second half, scoring in the 49th minute off an assist from Kyle Fletcher to build the lead to 2-0.
Husson would break into the scoring column when Josh Bean set up for a throw-in inside Thomas territory. The ball went into a crowd and Martin Lidholm was able to deflect it into the net with his body to cut the lead in half in the 58th minute.
With just under 10 minutes left, Husson earned a free kick 25 yards out. Andy Stevick hit a hard shot that got by Trott to even the score with only nine minutes to go in regulation.
Just over three minutes later a rebound opportunity came to Bean who fired a curving ball into the left corner as the teams were clearing out of the box from just beyond the penalty area, and Husson took its first lead of the night that would hold.
It was the first loss suffered by Thomas since August 31st, snapping an eight-game streak that had extended over a month.
