Casey Castle, Kiuno Cann and their University of Indianapolis (UIndy) Men's Soccer teammates opened the 2014 Season with a loss to visiting in-region foe Northwood 1-0 at Key Stadium.
The teams played through a scoreless first 45 minutes, with the University of Indianapolis winning the shots battle 4-1 in the first half. University of Indianapolis was also awarded five corner kicks in the first half to Northwood’s one.
A set-piece goal at the 73:20 mark lifted Northwood to the victory. Andrew Nugent headed a corner kick into the box by Keaton Levock home to give them the 1-0 win.
Castle and Ngwese Ebangwese each took a pair of shots for the University of Indianapolis offense, while Andrew Verhonik took the loss in goal.
