Minors Signs with South Carolina

IslandStats.com
Exciting times are at The Berkeley Institute as a S4 student and Deputy Head Boy signs for the University of South Carolina Upstate Spartans NCAA Division 1 Men's Soccer program.

Seventeen-year old senior student Calon Minors signs the dotted line of the National Letter of Intent to become the Spartans Soccer Program's latest recruit for the Fall 2014 school year.

Minors, an Honor student at Berkeley since he began in 2010, became a hot commodity after his impressive showing at the Bermuda School Sports Federation (BSSF) All Star game in January 2014. In this event Minors scored two wonderful goals from midfield and was voted the MVP of this prestigious annual event. It was after this that Minors started to receive offers to attend US schools. Minorsn, who was an integral part of The BSSF College showcase to IMG Academy and MontVerde Academy in 2012 has developed his skills at local club BAA. With the strong contact between Mr. Quincy Aberdeen and Coach Greg Hooks, Head Coach of the USC Upstate Spartans Men's soccer team, Minors was offered a football scholarship.

Minors’ father Clarkie Minors said, “We learned that he knew that this is what he wanted to do since he entered Berkeley four years ago. "I am very honored to have this opportunity and I hope that I can do my parents, The Berkeley Institute and Bermuda proud."
