IslandStats.com
A trio of University of Indianapolis Men's Soccer players have earned All-Midwest Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Both junior Ngwese Ebangwese and senior Roger Lee earned spots on the All-Region first team, while sophomore Reid Strain was named to the All-Region third team. The NSCAA honor is the second All-Region honor for both Ebangwese and Lee, who earned Daktronics, Inc. All-Midwest Region accolades last week.

Ebangwese, the GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, amassed 13 goals and added five assists to tally a whopping 31 points on the season. The forward led the GLVC this regular season in goals, goals per game, points and points per game, while tallying five game-winning scores as well.

Lee, also an All-GLVC First Team selection, recorded five assists on the season, tying with Ebangwese and Kevin Eggert for the University of Indianapolis lead. The University of Indianapolis midfielder leaves the school with 71 total matches played and 66 starts in his career, good for top five in program history.

Strain tallied five goals on the year, adding an assist for 11 points. He had two of the arguably most important goals of the Greyhound season, scoring golden goals in overtime to lift UIndy to wins over then-#9 Rockhurst and over Drury in the GLVC Championship Tournament semifinals.

With their first team honors, just the fifth and sixth in University of Indianapolis Men's soccer history, Ebangwese and Lee are now up for All-America consideration. The NSCAA All-America teams, chosen by the NSCAA Division II coaches.
