The latest Boccia World Rankings have just been released by the Boccia International Sport Federation (BISFed) and Boccia Bermuda are pleased to report that our local players have moved up the rankings.
Omar Hayward is now ranked 20th in the world out of 109 ranked athletes in the BC1 Class, Yushae Desilva-Andrade is ranked 28th out of 133 ranked athletes in the BC2 Class and Steve Wilson is ranked 33rd out of 118 athletes in the BC4 Class and Jamal Bean is ranked 104th in the BC4 Class.
Troy Farnsworth said, “To see our players climbing the rankings is a credit to the players hard work and commitment as well as to the numerous volunteers who help train the athletes every week.”
Hayward, Wilson and Desilva-Andrade will be representing Bermuda at the Boccia World Championships which will be held in Liverpool from August 12th – 18th.
The competition is set to attract 190 athletes from 33 countries and athletes will battle it out for world titles as well as crucially important ranking points ahead of the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2020.
