Saltus Athletics hosted its 10th Annual Athletic Banquet in the Alumni Hall.
Over 110 senior school student-athletes attended the gala event.
The criteria for an invite to the banquet is any student in years 10 through SGY2 that has represented Saltus in at least one inter school event.
The breakdown of attendees by year level was SGY2 – 26, SGY1 26, Y11 26 and Y10 29.
The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Female and Male Athlete of the Year awards. Also, there is the Senior (SGY1 & SGY2) Scholar Female and Male Student-Athlete awards and Junior (Y10 & Y11) Scholar Female and Male Student-Athlete awards.
The criteria for the scholar student-athlete award is a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or 85% average or higher over the course of the year. MVP and Coaches Awards were also presented in all league sports.
Katherine Bean-Rosario (SGY1) captured the Female Athlete of the Year Award and James Morrison (Y11) was presented the Male Athlete of the Year Award for 2023.
Former Athlete’s of the year, such as Liam Evans, Eva Frazzoni, Conor White, Zakiyah Durham, Tia Burrows, Tianna Mullan and Emily Cabral were in attendance.
Principal Julie Rousseau addressed the student-athletes and presented the awards. Another banquet tradition is the staff serves the student-athletes as they make their way down the buffet line
