Yushae DeSilva-Andrade continued competing in the Boccia World Championships.
Over 170 athletes from 41 countries are competing. The competition is being held in Carioca 1 Arena (in Olympic Park) next door to where Boccia was played in Rio Paralympics.
In her Third Group Stage match of the competition, DeSilva-Angreade would defeat Katerina Curinova from the Czech Republic, 4 – 1.
DeSilva-Andrade advanced to the Quarter-Finals.
Coach Troy Farnsworth told www.islandstats.com, “DeSilva-Andrade played well Earl and handled the pressure well considering it was a do or die match.
To make the top 8 at a World Championship is a fantastic effort! She really has nothing to lose tomorrow. I think she has a realistic chance of beating any of the players remaining and most importantly has the belief herself.”
