Minister responsible for Sports Lovitta Foggo congratulated professional boxer Nikki Bascome on his win against David Martinez from Mexico.
“I want to send out a huge congratulations to Nikki on claiming the International Boxing Association (IBA) Welterweight Championship Title,” said Minister Foggo.
“He is an inspiration to our young boxers, having proved himself in the ring time and time again. He is undoubtedly one of Bermuda’s most successful contemporary athletes which – combined with his excellent sportsmanship – should make us all proud.
“There is always so much buzz surrounding a Nikki fight and it’s easy to see why – he is a joy to watch and his matches always make for an exciting viewing. Well done once again to Bermuda’s hometown champion!”
