Bermudian Marcus Scotland shone with the bat during Surrey’s opening match of the English Cricket Board Royal London Under 15 County Cup against Suffolk at the LSE Sports Ground, South London.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Surrey soon found themselves uncomfortably placed at 114/5 after 28 overs, however Scotland, who last year opened the batting for the Under-14s, came in at number seven and built some useful partnerships with Ayush Patel who scored 72 and wicketkeeper Jed Crerar added 25. Batting the remaining 22 overs, Scotland finished unbeaten on 53 with two fours, facing 58 balls.
Surrey would score 250/7 in their allotted 50 overs, in reply, Suffolk were bowled out for 102 after 43.1 overs, losing by 148 runs.
