Marion Bermuda Race Sailors Moving Slow
The light winds experienced by the America’s Cup challengers today were also felt by the leaders of the Marion Bermuda Race.

The top 11 boats on the line honors Leaderboard were showing a distance to go within 10 miles of each other but doing only 1.2 recent VMG [velocity made good] to the finish in Bermuda.

Boats at the top of the YB Tracker’s Leaderboard are ‘Lucy Georgina’, XP44 skippered by Peter Bacon, the scratch [fastest] boat ‘Jambi’, a new Hinckley Bermuda 50 skippered by John Levinson and ‘Tenacious’, a J47 owned by Barrett Levenson.

The 47-boat fleet was filling the Atlantic Ocean course from 225nm away to about 310nm out from Bermuda, and while the back of the fleet enjoyed better winds, they hit the skids once they got close to the front.
