A standout performance from Marcus Scotland helped Spencer defeat the Old Ruts by 3 wickets.
Scotland’s inning first patient and then later explosive as he scored 55 not out retiring before Spencer nervously got the remaining runs.
Chasing a modest total of 94 in 24 overs to win, Spencer reached 30 off 12 overs, before Scotland took the initiative magnificently, hitting 37 off two overs of spin, before retiring with nine runs remaining and five overs left.
Overall the Spencer batsman showed promise, but the new players could take a lesson from Scotland in picking the good balls from the bad.
Scotland was named the Man of the Match.
