Eva Frazzoni and her College of Saint Rose scored twice in the opening 20 minutes to upend host Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption 2-1.
"This was a great team win. Our defense had a solid performance and we converted two goals off restarts. Our girls played with grit and heart," said head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil. Senior forward Sammy Blizzard headed home a rebound off a shot by junior midfielder Totianyu Guadalupe in the 12th minute to make it 1-0 to College of Saint Rose.
Freshman midfielder Frazzoni then scored her first collegiate goal in the 20th minute, a strike that proved to be the game-winner.
Assumption eventually spoiled the clean sheet of sophomore keeper Madison Taylor in the 89th minute when sophomore midfielder Kallie Villemaire knocked in a cross off the foot of junior forward Amanda Arnold.
Taylor was credited with a career-high 14 saves, while freshman Alexis Nason turned aside five shots-on-target at the other end for Assumption.
