Bermuda’s two Paralympians concluded competing in Rio with several uplifting performances.
Jessica Lewis set two National Records with Personal Best performances, while Yushae Desilva-Andrade finished 19th in the in the BC2 Individual Division.
Lewis finished 6th in the T53 Women’s 100m Final, Lewis then set a New Personal Best and a New Bermuda National Record time of 1:00.25 on her way to finishing 6th in Heat One of the T53 Women’s 400m, she then closed out with a new National Record and a Personal Best time of 1:58.24 on her way to finishing 6th in Heat 2 of the T53 Women’s 800m.
Lewis finished 11th overall in both the 400m and 800m.
DeSilva-Andrade went down 7 - 0 in her first match against Jeong Min Sohn from South Korea who is ranked 8th in the World, she then took on World's 9th ranked Nadav Shlomo Levi from Israel with the match ending 2 - 2 in regulation, before falling in the overtime period.
