On July 8th, Bermuda Olympian Roy Allan Burch announced on Social Media the following:
It's been made definite that I won't be competing in Rio. Without going into too much detail I was given up on. Despite that I couldn't have come that far without those who ended up giving up on me in the end. It's bitter sweet but from a life perspective I was able to regain full health and strength of my body.
Always remember to believe in yourself.
