Delray Rawlins starred on the opening day of Sussex Second Eleven’s three-day Championship match , as he claimed six wickets as Sussex bowled out MCC Young Cricketers for 236.
After the MCC won the toss and elected to bat at The Saffrons in Eastbourne, they encountered the slow left-arm of Rawlins as the 18 year-old picked up figures of 32-7-79-6.
There were also wickets for Jofra Archer, Daniel Doram and Lewis Hatchett as the visitors were bowled out in the 80th over of the day.
Sussex reached 2 without loss before the close of play.
Meanwhile Kamau Leverock and his Cardiff MCCU teammates concluded their MCCU Championship match against Cambridge MCCU, the two day match saw Cardiff MCCU win the toss and decided to field.
Cambridge/ were bowled out for 322 in 82.2 overs, with Leverock returning figures of 18-4-59-3.
In reply Cardiff scored 326/9 declared in 80.1 overs, with Leverock scoring 3 runs as they won on 1st Innings scores by 1 wicket.
leverock was at the wicket for 21 minutes and faced just six balls. The match resulted in a draw with Cambridge reaching 89/3 after 23.2 overs.
