Smith & Heyliger Reflect on B Standard & More
Last night on the opening night of the Validus Bermuda National Long Course Championships, Rebecca Heyliger met the Rio 2016 Olympic Qualification.

Just to be clear the B Standard is in itself a major accomplishment, but it comes with a hope of an invite to the Games as there is also a Rio 2016 Games A Standard which several Swimmers have already met.

However Heyliger and National Swimming coach Ben Smith would be happy with the performance and will eagerly now await the letter, but the accomplishment on the first night now sets the event up to be a big one.

Heyliger said, “I am so happy I was able to meet the B Standard on the opening night, now I could just look to swim fast for the rest of the Meet, I have two more events over the weekend and will just look to go fast.”

Smith said, “The way the Meet has started we are looking forward to some big things over the coming weekend, we still have others who are working to meet Rio Standards and Heyliger has set the stage for that.”
