Here we go again, Cricket and Football on a collision course, this after the Bermuda Football Association cancelled three Premier Division matches last Sunday, only to announce on Tuesday that they had rescheduled the three Premier Division games for this Sunday, moving the FA Challenge Cup matches to last night.
Hold up it’s not over, Wednesday they cancelled the Tuesday announcement out, by announcing that the Premier Division matches will still be played on Sunday April 10th, moving the FA Challenge Cup Semi-Finals to Sunday April 17th and the Final on Sunday April 24th.
On Sunday April 24th the Bermuda Cricket Board have scheduled two Twenty20 Double Headers, with three of the clubs involved in the Semi-Finals of Football on Sunday April 17th taking part in Cricket on the 24th, meaning that there will be a club playing Cricket and the FA Challenge Cup Final all in the same day.
The scenario that will most likely have everyone holding their head would be if Devonshire Cougars defeat Robin Hood in the first Semi-Final and then PHC Zebras defeat the Dandy Town Hornets in the second Semi-Final.
If those two teams reach the FA Challenge Cup Final on April 24th, one would have to wonder what would become of the Bermuda Cricket Board Twenty20 match featuring Devonshire Recreation Club and PHC on the same day at White Hill Field scheduled to begin at 3pm.
Not to be outdone the PDL Knock Out Final is scheduled for the same day featuring the Dandy Town Hornets and the Devonshire Cougars, well Western Stars are expected to play Southampton Rangers at Sea Breeze Oval at 11am on the same day.
