The Second Bermuda Boxing Federation National Championships took place inside the Cedarbridge Academy Gymnasium.
The first of four Elite fights went the distance, Middle Weights Zain Philpott from the Bermuda Sanshou Association defeated his opponent from the Controversy Gym by split decision.
Shane Basden from Controversy Gym won his Super Heavy Weight fight against Jason Lowe from the Bermuda Sanshou Association after the latter was disqualified. After being on the end of a blow to the head in the second round, Basden appeared to stop and within a split second Lowe landed a right hand and floored Basden, with the referee halting the fight and disqualifying Lowe.
The third fight of the night was voted the fight of the night as Light Heavy Weights Keanu Wilson from the Bermuda Sanshou Association floored Coleman Mills from Forty Rego’s Gym twice in the first round, but Mills managed to gain his composure and forced Wilson to go the distance, Wilson who was later named Fighter of the night won by Unanimous Decision.
Tyler Christopher from Controversy Gym remained undefeated in the Welter Weight Division after he defeated Omar Dill from Forty Rego’s Gym by Unanimous Decision.
