Following his announcement yesterday that he is running for the position of CONCACAF President, if Larry Mussenden is successful he will take the title of the governing body for soccer in North America and the Caribbean and he will also take up one of the eight FIFA Vice President positions.
Back in 2010 Mussenden was elected as the New President of the Bermuda Football Association for a second time. Mussenden, a lawyer by trade, replaced Richard Calderon who announced he would step down earlier in the year.
Mussenden served a first term as the President of the Bermuda Football Association for the period 2001 - 2008. He serves as the Chairman of the FIFA Appeals Committee and regularly hears appeals from countries around the world on all matters of football.
Mussenden retired from the Bermuda Regiment in 2003 as a Major having reached the appointment of Second-In-Command after serving for some 16 years. Mussenden was appointed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Bermuda and Government Senate Leader in January 2004 having being appointed a Senator in 2003. Mussenden served in these capacities until October 2006. As Attorney-General, Senator Mussenden was the Chief Legal Advisor to the Government of Bermuda.
Support appears to be steadily growing for Bermuda Football Association President Mussenden following his announcement yesterday.
