USA Gymnastics Coach Marin Sharp who held a training camp in Bermuda two years ago has been found dead in a jail cell in the United States after facing child molestation charges.
49 year old Sharp from Indianapolis was found unresponsive at Marion County Prison in Oregon where he was being held on four counts of child molesting and three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor,
Sharp who reportedly trained two Olympic Silver Medalist owned Sharps Gymnastics in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Back in 2013 as part of the USA Gymnastics Global Ambassador Program, Bermuda along with Denmark, Panama and South Africa received approval to the programme with Bermuda National Gymnastics Head Coach Dike Nelligan stating at the time, “We are able to announce that our first Global Ambassador initiative will be a training camp over the October Midterm Break with USA Team Coach Marvin Sharp.”
