The 2015 Champion of Champions match was marred by an incident involving Cleveland County wicketkeeper Jason Anderson and Willow Cuts guest player George O’Brien.
The video footage of the incident shows Anderson charging O’Brien from behind, which was followed by O’Brien raising his bat, players stepped between the pair only to see Anderson throw another punch, which was followed by O’Brien swinging his bat, the pair came together tussling and went to the ground with Aaron Adams trying to stop the fight only to kicked in the head by his teammate Anderson.
Players, officials and members of the Bermuda Police Service rushed in to separate the pair and try to restore order, with the Cleveland County President Carlton Smith telling his player Anderson to get off the field.
After cooler heads prevailed and a meeting between the Match Referee, umpires, Bermuda Police Service and the two captains the match resumed with Cleveland County winning by 72 runs.
