NatWest Ceremonies Details Released

IslandStats.com
The details about the Opening Ceremony during the NatWest Island Games 2015 have been released.

During the pre-ceremony garden party you will be able to sample some of the wonderful refreshments while enjoying the entertainment on stage, screen and within the park.

The ceremony itself will showcase the wealth of talent that Jersey has to offer. The full line up will be confirmed next week but organizers are very excited to announce that local singer and song-writer Michelle Rowsell, who has just released her first album titled Jersey Girl, will perform. Throughout the evening there will also be performance artistes and dancers choreographed by Christophe Chateau, plus a few surprises!

Hosted by Jess Dunsdon, Mark McQuillan and Murray Norton, the Opening Ceremony will focus what make Jersey unique. There will be references to the history and traditions, the language as well as those people who continue to fly the flag for Jersey today and help make our island what it is.

Central to all the festivities are the athletes themselves, the true stars of the show, who will take pride of place within the park and will be made to feel truly special.

Closing Ceremony will be a great celebration for all those involved in the Games and a chance to reflect on the triumphs of the week. With a more relaxed atmosphere Murray Norton and Katy Ringsdore, who hosted the Channel 103 Breakfast Show together, will make sure that everyone has a night to remember.

There will be a host of very talented and well-known locals who will be ensuring the party gets going. The Jersey Bounce will be the headline act and the rest of the line-up will be announced next week. There will be a few surprises as well so the Closing Ceremony promises to be a great end to the week!

More details will be announced ahead of the tickets going on sale on Thursday 14 May.

Suzie Foster, Manager Of Ceremonies, said, "Jersey is an island famous for its hospitality and we want to show our guests the ‘Jersey Welcome’ that visitors talk about, and both ceremonies will welcome and in turn bid farewell to the athletes with a suitable mix of tradition and celebration."
