Verdet Kessler, Australia’s number one Badminton player, who mother Verniece Benjamin-Kessler was Bermuda's leading dancer 1970's – 1987 has won her first Singles Match at the Commonwealth Games in straight sets.
Taking on Mariama Eastmond, Kessler won her first match 21-3 in 7 minutes, she then won the second set 21-13 in 10 minutes to advance.
