Devwah Whaley has become the latest athlete to reach the Qualifying Standard for the 2014 Carifta Games.
Whaley competed at the BISD/YMBL Invitational Relays for area High School Boys and Girls conducted in conjunction with the Beaumont Independent School District at the Babe Zaharias Memorial Stadium.
Whaley finished second in the Boy’s Triple Jump with a leap of 14:50m or 47 feet 6 inches.
Whaley who father Devoe Whaley was a Track and Field stand out in college and represented Bermuda on a few occasions.
The younger Whaley, is ranked among the state's top Triple Jumpers in Class 4A.
