Two-time eGolf Tour winner Drew Weaver of High Point, NC needed a brief respite from the game of golf last week, following a playoff loss at the HGM Hotels Classic at Rock Barn, and a disappointing showing at U.S. Open sectionals just two days later. That respite, as it turned out, refocused a red-hot Weaver, as the former U.S. Walker Cupper posted rounds of 65-64129 this week at the tours Bolle Classic to seize a one-shot leading heading into Fridays third round.
The Bolle Classic is the 12th event of the 2011 eGolf Tour season and is being contested this week at both Sapona Country Club in Lexington, NC and Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, NC.
Michael Sims shot a Second Round 3-under par 67 to end the day up from his T64th spot to T31st.
Sims round saw him start out on the Front Nine, where he recorded back to back Birdies to move to 2-under par. Sims then ran off seven consecutive Pars to make the turn at 2-under par.
On the Back Nine Sims started out with a Birdie on the tenth to move to 3-under par, Sims then recorded four consecutive Pars before he had another Birdie on the par three fifteenth to move to 4-under par, but a Bogey on the very next hole dropped him back to 3-under par. Sims closed out his round with back to back Pars.
