Tony Hemming, who is the Head Curator of the International Cricket Council’s Global Cricket Academy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is presently on the island preparing to conduct a international Curator Seminar.
Hemming has been on the island for a few days and has had a chance to visit some of the Clubs Grounds to have a look at how he can advise the local Groundsmen going forward.
Hemming said, “It is simple we know you don’t have full time Groundsmen at these clubs, so what is needed is some sort of system that can work, a Groundsman need to know if he has prepared a good wicket or a bad wicket, he has to know what happens when I roll the wicket for 20 hours or 5 hours, these are the types of things I will be discussing with the people that come to the seminar.
The Bermuda Cricket Board have confirmed that several people has signed up for the course, they include the likes of Ray Butterfield, Wendell Smith, Del Hollis, Fiqre Crockwell, Richard Carlington, Roger Dill, Glen Gilbert, Quinn Outerbridge, Alfred Carter, George Cannonier, Randy Raynor, Clarence Raynor, Peter Lee and Allan Douglas.
