The Bermuda Track and Field Association (BTFA) has announced that the IAAF Level 1 Official’s Course has concluded.
BTFA President Donna Watson said, “Fourteen Chief Officials passed and once they complete specific criteria of officiating at our local meets they will be level 1 certified officials.”
“This course was put on specifically for our officials who will be officiating for the Lime Carifta games. The course was facilitated by Esther Maynard who will be our technical delegate for the games. One of the other areas she had to visit the stadium to make sure the track was in certifiable condition, that we have the right equipment for the games, the layout of the stadium, rooms, warm-up track. We passed in all areas,” continued Watson.
Those who passed include Manny Faria, Mike Charles, Nicole Richardson, Reggie Tucker, Tamika Williams, Dr. Freddie Evans, Wayne Bean, Terry Lynn Paynter, Gregory Simons, Debbie Jones-Hunter, Cal Simons, Erika Russell, Stephen Douglas and Karen Minors,” concluded Watson.
